Season 1

JD wrote:Season 1 wasn't a great season, perhaps 'good' is also overrating it.
I mean, I do like it. But there is little to no real plot and most episodes are just... good. It's all just... good.
Honestly, if this were the first time I watched it, I might stop watching.

Season 1 average: **.83

Erik wrote:Season one was not nearly as good as I remember it. It had some good episodes, and great episodes, but also had a lot of episodes that aren't that good. The mythology isn't nearly as good as the later seasons, especially once you've seen the series already. It is mainly just vague suggestions of aliens and government conspiracies. While future seasons are still vague most of the time, it's nothing compared to this season.

While it wasn't the best start to a series, it it wasn't the worst either. There were some really good episodes, including one of the best of the series ("Beyond The Sea"), and there are more good episodes than bad ones (although it is close).

Season 1 average: **.79

Greta wrote:Here's my review for every season.
I liked it.

Season 1 average: **.92

Ryan wrote:Season one wasn't very good to be honest. It introduced the main characters and some we will see later. I kinda wish the mythology had been bigger, but it is fine since the show got better.

Season 1 average: ***.12

Average: **.92

Season 2

JD wrote:A pretty huge improvement over Season 1.
The first couple of episodes were great, because they were completely different. Mulder and Scully weren't together anymore, which made the writers make new directions and new characters.

However, once they were back together it got a little like Season 1 again. The second half of the Season was not nearly as strong as the first half. Though still enjoyable.

Season 2 Average: ***.44

Season 3

JD wrote:With the Second Season being a huge improvement over the first, The Third is a huge improvement over the second.

Scully actually got to do more stuff besides being the Skeptic all the time. She got her own storylines, like her sister's death. She really starts to blossom and show her character's potential in this season. And Gillian Anderson also gets really, really hawt.

David Duchovny's acting also starts to improve big time, he's still not great at drama. but he managed to portray his character in a believable way unlike in some of the first Season.

The mythology grows, the show starts to have more lighter episodes. including two of the greatest of the entire show.

Yeah, Season 3 was a very strong year. and the most acclaimed one.

Season 3 Average: ***.67

No way is Space worse than Fight Club! :|
Hurley (listening to a radio transmission): You hear how clear that is? That's gotta be close, right?
Sayid: Radio waves at this frequency bounce off the ionosphere. They can travel thousands of miles. It could be coming from anywhere.

Space is bad, but compared to Fight Club, it's as great as some of the best X-Files episodes. :iguess:

Hmm.. Not sure. But I don't think that any other episode is in that league of crappiness.

Probably more like Nov - Dec. Since the movie will be in the theater on July 25th. Unless it tanks in the theater then Erik's probably right.

Well, five hours a week is perse not that much.

I understand how it would be difficult if it were 10 episodes a week or something.

The thing is there are other things I want to watch or do more than I want to rewatch The X-Files right now. I started going to the gym in the morning again so anything I do has to be after work. I get home from work between 5 & 6 Monday thru Friday and go to bed between 9 & 10, that doesn't leave much time for cooking, cleaning, reading a few comic, posting and whatever else I have to do at night as well as watching some TV. I can do some watching on the weekends, but during the summer I'm more apt to go out and stuff.
I'll keep watching as I can.
