A pretty huge improvement over Season 1.
The first couple of episodes were great, because they were completely different. Mulder and Scully weren't together anymore, which made the writers make new directions and new characters.
However, once they were back together it got a little like Season 1 again. The second half of the Season was not nearly as strong as the first half. Though still enjoyable.
Season 2 Average: ***.44
Don Draper: There is no big lie, there is no system. The universe is indifferent. Joan Holloway: This isn't China, there is no money in virginity.
With the Second Season being a huge improvement over the first, The Third is a huge improvement over the second.
Scully actually got to do more stuff besides being the Skeptic all the time. She got her own storylines, like her sister's death. She really starts to blossom and show her character's potential in this season. And Gillian Anderson also gets really, really hawt.
David Duchovny's acting also starts to improve big time, he's still not great at drama. but he managed to portray his character in a believable way unlike in some of the first Season.
The mythology grows, the show starts to have more lighter episodes. including two of the greatest of the entire show.
Yeah, Season 3 was a very strong year. and the most acclaimed one.
Season 3 Average: ***.67
Don Draper: There is no big lie, there is no system. The universe is indifferent. Joan Holloway: This isn't China, there is no money in virginity.
The fourth Season was even better than the third.
The Mythology was strong, but so were the MOTW episodes. Honestly, only one didn't work for me out of the 24 episodes.
Both Mulder and Scully were at their best, and David and Gillian looked their best.
for the most part, the show went back to it's original darkness with only one comedy, which I liked.
Season 4 is probably my favorite season, if not it's very close.
