Red Ball


Catastrophic consequences

topple down the stairs in seasons.

We know they will each arrive

We just can't know when.

Some say they come in threes.

Some dont believe they're coming at all

Either way, they are.

The first one I ever saw

came in the form of a roaming friend

chasing a red ball.

For Drea (From An Empathetic Stranger)


Looking out across the petals of this vast flower

we bloom inside of with each day,

I often notice the seemingly small acts of kindness

that harvest themselves within this threaded wall.

To feel someone's spirit without ever getting to

touch it is a tragedy and a blessing.

Though we know the inside of Drea and how altrusitic

her voice rose through the corridors of souls

in need of platonic love,

We will never get to touch her physical prescence

and feel it radiate through our fingers.

Perhaps we can all take her stories and her advice

she spilled upon her blog for us

and use it to show others what a little place full of

big personalities can do to touch your life forever.

Today, she brings us together.

Some of us will learn of her today..

Some of us will lose her today..

Either way, what's important is she is

remembered and we paint her colors

along this canvas of fragments

longing to connect,

making us whole.

Standing In The Corner


I went there again.

That little boy struck with the paddle in front of the class
That scared child pushed onto the floor and abused by four people he trusted
That lonely adolescent who longed for a surprise most adults haven't endured
That confused teenager beaten down over a touchy adjective
That numb teenager who was forced into a girlfriend he impregnated
That defenseless adult who was only trying to do what was right at the wrong time

I went there again.

When they call out my name,
I realize some things never change.

Vines


tapestries entangling..
it always feels like a crime when I do this.
the elbows of avenues some have taken
feel shallow and distant
I ride the cliffs with my legs out of the window
hoping to catch the wind smoldering across my feet-
a crucified tumbleweed.
bodies entangling..
it always feel wrong when you do this.
the knees of suggestions some have chosen
feel hollow and forced
I ride the cliffs with my inhibitions drawn out
burning the embers of a rotting piece of lumber-
a misfired idea.

I am entangled in poisonous vines-
A tapestry of bodies.

Aarah On The Ocean


Aarah on the ocean,
extending palms up.
She sings a sad song,
pretending to pray.
She rides the waves like a girl on a bicycle.
She sings to the fish,
they float slowly away.

Aarah On The Ocean
my souls a harmonica
I watch her glide
with Bjork and Nirvana
on lazy Sundays and long summer nights
I wanted to show her
a new life to lie in.
One she could rely in
If only she knew more than her natural bed.
You know that I held her,
her head in my worried arms
the puke flew from her smile
onto the cold, hungry grond.
I dreamed she could love me
and I could be normal.
Will I ever be the asshole
she wanted so bad?

Fragments Of It

I am on this tightrope,
slick with decisions I've fucked up once before.
I balance in my nonchalance and
try to make people understand to not
understand.
All the while, I twirl those heavy batons,
walk upon the places others cant and
try to look ahead with doom all around me.
What I need to realize more often is
the audience is watching me too
and there are nets to catch me if I get lost
in the fragments of it.

Deeper

Crouched..
In position
As I hunch, crumbling
The Crunch is ever humbling.

Straddled..
In weary
As I cringe, shaking
The fringe is ever staking.

Defeated..
In deeper
As I mourn, hesitating.
The Torn is ever obliterating.

Trash Man

I commence in my trash can
of posessions and regressions.

I may juggle my garbage and shake it in your face
to remind you whats clean and dirty in this place.

I empathize with whats thrown away
in cages with bitter wages.

I may struggle and weep as I tell you where I have been
to make you understand how it feels in this skin.

I am the Trash Man
with riddles and belittles.

I may stumble and tell you my secrets and treasures
to help you decide of pains and pleasures.

YEP...I think thats enough for now..Noone will read all of these!

I have never shared this much poetry in one place before.

That's lot of poetry, I need to read some of it. But not all of it at once.

I practically got tendonitis from posting all these. I need to sleep for work tonight.

"Connect" I just wrote the other day. Glad you liked it.

"Suffer Unto" is what I wrote after a friend of mine died.

"Senses" was about a "friend with benefits".

"Words Are High In Cholesterol" was about a particularly shitty night amongst acquaintances.

"Stars and Bones" was how I felt after reading a magazine with an inappropriate view on what was importnat.

And thanks for reading the one msot wont- 'My Mind On some things.." THat was me letting emotions out in one sitting with no editing. I wrote it about the time I found TV.Com.

"Catering" (06-30-08)

Here it comes..
One more request and you know how I will
answer.
I care so much and I know you care too-
I just dont understand
the fog that clouds over your reason.
I feel like I've always been making this large buffet
And the line is out the door and around the
corner
and everyone is hungrier than they have ever been.
I keep baking and burning my fingers
and there is never enough
food.
All the while I know someone
anyone
will be starving and I don't want that to happen.
Catering is a difficult job
especially when you aren't being paid for it.

This is my favourite of the ones that I just read. I love it all but particularly 7.44 am.

In Love: "When I fantasize about the day we meet, I don't imagine only the simple things.

Delay

Hazard Warning: "They should have warning signs at the food court for more than one reason."

Me and My Bag: The last stanza.

I guess I love the bits that I can relate to.

I love the way that you can say so much in one line.

I think one of the strengths of your poetry is your honesty. It's right in your face.
