020: Weeds (2005 - ???)

What's it about: A widow suburban mom turned into a drug dealer.
Why I love it: Hilarious, and brutal. With a brilliant cast, I never thought I was going to love this show as much as I do now.
Favorite Character: Andy Botwin
Favorite Episode: GO

019: Firefly (2002)

What's it about: In the future, a spacecraft and it's crew try to survive after a war.
Why I love it: Joss' third series was sadly, short lived. But I think that if it would have had the chance, it might have even been better than Angel and Buffy. Critics seem to love it more than either of those.
Favorite Character: River Tam
Favorite Episode: Objects In Space

018: Hellsing/Ultimate OVA (2001-2002/2006)

What's it about: A British taskforce, lead by the daughter of the vampire hunter Prof. Van Helsing, battles the supernatural with the aid of two vampires.
Why I love it: I'm cheating, but i'm going to put the original and the OVA as one. The OVA was much better than the original, but it wasn't long enough to put it alone on the list. and I love the original as well. Best anime EVAHZ!!!
Favorite Character: Alucard
Favorite Episode: Ultimate OVA 4

017: Band Of Brothers (2001)

What's it about: The World War II through the soldiers eyes.
Why I love it: Extremely moving and devastating, the best mini-series i've ever seen. HBO at it's best.
Favorite Character: Richard D. Winters
Favorite Episode: Why We Fight

016: The Office (2005 - ???)

What's it about: A typical day at the Office.
Why I love it: One of the best, and smartest comedies i've ever seen. It cracks me up like no other show could.
Favorite Character: Dwight Schrute
Favorite Episode: The Fire

015: Big Love (2006 - ???)

What's it about: The life of a polygamist family.
Why I love it: I can't wait for this show to be back, last season was truly a blast. The great cast and writing. Love it.
Favorite Character: Nicolette Grant
Favorite Episode: The Ceremony

014: MillenniuM (1996 - 1999)

What's it about: A former FBI agent has the ability to look inside the minds of killers.
Why I love it: Such a dark and well-done show. Only thing I think that could have been better were the characters, but the show was actually better written than the X-Files.
Favorite Character: Frank Black
Favorite Episode: The Time Is Now

013: Twin Peaks (1990 - 1991)

What's it about: A girl named Laura Palmer is murdered in a small town called Twin Peaks, but nothing is what it seems.
Why I love it: Davind Lynch should certainly go back to do more television work. He captured this dreamy, sexy, and creepy tv show perfectly. Even the second season's episodes that weren't as well received, were wonderful IMO.
Favorite Character: Dale Cooper
Favorite Episode: Beyond Life And Death

012: Rome (2005 - 2007)

What's it about: The last years of Julius Caesar's reign.
Why I love it: A strong, realistic historical show. I'm currently rewatching it and forgot how fucking good it is
Favorite Character: Gaius Octavian
Favorite Episode: Kalends Of February

011: Dead Like Me (2003 - 2004)

What's it about: One day, the unhappy George is killed by a toilet seat and is doomed to continue collecting souls.
Why I love it: A dark comedy that teaches you something about life, with loveable and crazy characters. I wish it hadn't been canceled so soon.
Favorite Character: Daisy Adair
Favorite Episode: The Shallow End

010: The X-Files (1993 - 2002)

What's it about: Two FBI agents, one a skeptic and one a believer. Investigate unexplained cases.
Why I love it: To be honest, this show doesn't really deserve to be in the top 10. It could be really mediocre sometimes. But for some reason, the show is just so addictive. And despite some poor episodes, it also had some of the best episodes i've seen. Definitely a cult show and one of the most influential ones.
Favorite Character: Fox Mulder
Favorite Episode: The Post-Modern Prometheus

009: Dexter (2006 - ???)

What's it about: A serial killer who kills serial killers.
Why I love it: Not a lot of shows grow on me as fast as Dexter did, it was obvious to me that it was going to be something big after only the Pilot. And I haven't been disappointed one bit, I hope this show continues to be so dark and brilliant.
Favorite Character: Dexter Morgan
Favorite Episode: The British Invasion

008: The Sopranos (1999 - 2007)

What's it about: The life of a mob boss, Tony Soprano.
Why I love it: This show will probably remain the critics favorite. And I can see why, just like The Godfather, it managed to leave such a huge impact. It was brutal and honest.
Favorite Character: Silvio Dante
Favorite Episode: Long Term Parking

007: Freaks & Geeks (1999 - 2000)

What's it about: The life of Lindsey, a troubled girl and her little geeky brother in the 80s.
Why I love it: I know it was on for only one season, but this show is/was truly remarkable. Unlike other shows about teenagers, this one captured it perfectly. It's such a damn shame a brilliant show like F&G only had one season. But it still managed to do so much with so little.
Favorite Character: Lindsey Weir
Favorite Episode: Looks and Books

006: Angel (1999 - 2004)

What's it about: A vampire cursed with a soul, looking for redemption.
Why I love it: Maybe not one of the best, or most original shows of all time. But it will always be my favorite, in a way. I used to be so obsessed with this show, a little part of me died when the show got canceled. Damn you, WB!.
Favorite Character: Wesley Wyndam-Pryce
Favorite Episode: Apocalypse, Nowish

005: Carnivale (2003 - 2005)

What's it about: The battle of good and evil, in the mid 1930s.
Why I love it: Though short lived, it blew me away more than any show ever did after only two seasons. And it would probably be my number one if it had lived longer, and had remained at the same height of quality. I am still hoping for a movie or miniseries. This show will haunt me until the day I die.
Favorite Character: Justin Crowe
Favorite Episode: New Canaan

004: Deadwood (2004 - 2006)

What's it about: Life in a town called Deadwood, in the late 1880s full of corruption and crime.
Why I love it: This show is just fucking amazing and realistic. It also had the best cast of any show i've ever seen. Watching this show feels just like living in it.
Favorite Character: Seth Bullock
Favorite Episode: Sold Under Sin

003: Lost (2004 - ???)

What's it about: A plane crashes on a mystical Island, where nothing is what it seems.
Why I love it: Although it's far from my number one now, there are still two seasons left so It might still boost up enough. I love the show, it requires your full attention and I love shows like that. it's like a little puzzle.
Favorite Character: Benjamin Linus
Favorite Episode: Live Together, Die Alone

002: Battlestar Galactica (2004 - ???)

What's it about: The last remaining humans try to find earth, and are on the run for the machines they created called Cylons.
Why I love it: Last time, it was Lost that was very close to my number one. This time, it's BSG. It could become my new number One if the rest of Season 4 is as amazing as the last episode. This show is how all Sci-Fi should be.
Favorite Character: William Adama
Favorite Episode: Revelations

001: Six Feet Under (2001 - 2005)

What's it about: The life of a dysfunctional family running a funeral home.
Why I love it: Finally, the number one. Just like last time. This show changed my life, it captured life perfectly. Alan Ball is a remarkable writer, first American Beauty and then Six Feet Under. I hope his new project 'True Blood' will be as amazing. Love this show, everyone should.
Favorite Character: Claire Fisher
Favorite Episode: Ecotone
