I thought that this was a great season. The mini-series and the first episode was a great way to introduce the characters and the situation. There were some great ones after that, and even the worst were still OK.

I agree with your choice of "Kobol's Last Gleaming 2." A great conclusion with lots of great scenes. I loved the conflict between the president and Adama. The development with Gaius (my favorite character) was great. The story with Boomer was good, now that they knew she is a Cylon, and her pregnancy. And the final moments were... Wow...
Hurley (listening to a radio transmission): You hear how clear that is? That's gotta be close, right?
Sayid: Radio waves at this frequency bounce off the ionosphere. They can travel thousands of miles. It could be coming from anywhere.
Hurley: Or any time... Just kidding, dude.

Ben: I was told a lot of things, too, that I was chosen, that I was special. I end up with a tumor on my spine and my daughter's blood all over my hands.
Locke: I'm sorry those things happened to you, Ben.
Ben: Those things had to happen to me. That was my destiny. But you'll understand soon enough that there are consequences to being chosen, because destiny, John, is a fickle bitch.

Sayid (about Ben): Forgive me, but the day I start trusting him is the day I would've sold my soul.

I was watching the mini-series last night with my dad. I haven't finished it yet, but from what I did rewatch, I noticed something that could turn out to be important in the end if I'm right about it. In the first couple parts, there doesn't seem to be any indication that the Six that Gaius is with is a head Six. In fact, there seems to be both clues, and more up front evidence that she's real. They hint at the fact by having her needing to take care of business, and even talking to somebody else after Gaius leaves (we don't see who it is). And the more obvious proof is the woman who he sleeps with. The scene has her sitting there as they're in bed, and then she talks to her. But unlike head Six, the woman actually sees her, and asks who she is. Anyway, in the mini-series, the first indication of Six being in Gaius' head is in the helicopter that takes him and a few others to Galactica. She obviously wasn't picked to go on the helicopter, but appears on there, and also disappears. This scene takes place after the scene where he's with Six in his home, and there's an explosion which should have killed him, but Six says "get down" and he ducks behind her, just as the explosion happens. So I'm wondering if something happened then, and that somehow links their minds together.

... The one who saw her? No. It was somebody else.

No, Caprica was with Gaius.

she died during the explosions, and then he started seeing her in that grass field which confused him.

Yeah. I didn't pick up on that the first time. :P

But the point is that that could have something to do with him seeing her, and something happened to him because of it.

.......................................

WOW!

I just re-watched "Tigh Me Up, Tigh Me Down." The writers are frakking brilliant! Here I was thinking it was just an annoying comedy episode which introduces the most annoying character on the series. And it is... But it's more than that. It's a letter to fans who go back after finding out about the truth about Ellen saying "You think we pulled that twist out of our asses? You think we didn't know what we were doing? Well you're wrong! You're a stupid idiot for not remembering these moments which are pretty much us telling you what she is, and you didn't get it! And here you're questioning us, when it's you who should have know all along! While we're just sitting here, laughing our asses off that you did not get it before now."

I feel ashamed. :(

:iguess:

I always thought that Ellen would end up being a Cylon... but then she got killed off and I gave up on that theory.

Then Tigh started to see her as Caprica, and I started thinking that she was an aged Six.

So, I always suspected. But not a Final Five <<

Gaius' role in the series finale seems so obvious now that I rewatched Kobol's Last Gleaming. His last scene with the "angel" Six pretty much spells it all out. :iguess:

I wonder if the writers knew what they were going to do with him in the end, or if they made it up later, and they just happened to choose something that fits with something they did before, like what happened with "Tigh Me Up, Tigh Me Down." :P

Overall, this season was a lot better than I remembered. It did a great job setting up the characters, and the different stories, conflicts, and early mysteries.

I stick with my previous favorite episode "Kobol's Last Gleaming, part 2."
